The Firefly Fun House — a theory.

The Firefly Fun House: a theory, part one— the Fun House
Since my last post was met with a surprisingly positive response, I figured I’d start digging a little more into the world of Bray Wyatt and begin to peel back it’s many layers in order to better understand the story that Bray is trying to tell.
And what better place to start than one of the biggest pieces of the mystery: the Firefly Fun House.
What is the Firefly Fun House exactly?
Well, the first thing we should attempt to figure out is whether it (the Fun House) exists in the physical world or if the Fun House itself is merely a supernatural projection of Wyatt/The Fiend’s creation.
One would assume that, because we’ve seen on multiple occasions, “visitors” to the Fun House, that it must be a physical location, right?
Not so fast.
It’s important to remember exactly who—or what—we’re dealing with in the Fiend. Is it out of the realm of possibility that the Fiend, in kayfabe, is powerful enough to conjure up a supernatural “fun house”, a place that only exists as an abstract concept, to act as the engine that drives the story being told by Wyatt? Remember, we’re talking about a character that is nearly immune to pain, can appear and disappear at any given moment, and can literally be immolated and still survive. He’s a horror movie villain come to life.
But what of all the visitors to the fun house,”you ask?
Well, before we answer that, let’s take a look at who thus far has appeared in the Fun House:
Seth Rollins John Cena Braun Strowman Adam Pierce Alexa Bliss
Of those 5 “guests”, 3 of them were involved in feuds with The Fiend: Rollins, Strowman, and Cena. Let’s focus on those 3 first.
Rollins first appeared in the Fun House by attacking Wyatt and lighting the Fun House on fire. This was all during the build up to the much maligned Hell in a Cell match at the PPV of the same name. Seth would go on to defeat the Fiend after a controversial (and confusing) referee stoppage after Rollins went berserk and crushed the Fiend’s skull in with a sledgehammer. But the ending of the match saw the Fiend rise from the stretcher to lay Seth out with a mandible claw to end the show.
Seth Rollins sets the Fun House ablaze
Rollins vs The Fiend, Hell in a Cell highlights
But what’s important to note is that there is a common thread throughout these encounters with the Fiend: all three superstars would go on to turn heel after feuding with him, except for Cena, who would just “disappear”, albeit after going heel mode and trying to lay Wyatt out with a chair in a replay of their WM30 moment. See what I’m getting at here?
Looking back at Seth, his face run had grown stale. Fans were losing interest, and you could see the signs of a possible heel turn in the near future. He had just come off a win at Clash of Champions against Braun Strowman, who we’ll look at shortly. For Rollins, you could tell his confidence was wavering, and there was definitely fear building in him with every ambush.
Rollins and Wyatt segment, RAW, 09.16.2019
I believe the psychological tactics played by The Fiend are with the intent of breaking his opponents, in which they then let him in, which often results in them committing some unspeakable act of violence, turning them heel in the process. In the case of Rollins, it was literally crushing the Fiend’s skull in with various weapons, including a sledgehammer and toolbox.
Now, IMO, the red light used during the match I believe is telling us that it is to be viewed as more “cinematic” and, in the case of Hell in a Cell, also used for practical purposes, especially for the finish. But I don’t believe what we were watching was necessarily supposed to be viewed from the perspective of “a wrestling match”, as much as it is to portray the idea of it being “cinematic”. When you view the match through that lens, it’s actually pretty good and I would suggest watching the whole thing again if you have the network.
Seth was fearful of failure and losing the title after barely beating Braun Strowman with 4 curb stomps and a pedigree.
This is what would play out in the Cell, with nothing in Rollins arsenal working against the Fiend. He no sold every move Rollins threw at him. It was he who was testing the lengths in which Rollins would go in order to keep his championship. He obviously went to pretty extreme lengths, but again, in the ended with Rollins laid out, coughing up blood.
It’s said that an encounter with the Fiend changes you. In this case, Rollins would go on a losing streak after losing the UC to Wyatt at Super Showdown, eventually turning heel and calling himself the “Monday Night Messiah” and, if we’re being honest, doing some pretty f**ked up stuff... like gouging Rey Mysterio’s eye out with the steel ring steps. So, while Rollins won, so did the Fiend. Rollins had to “let him in” to beat the Fiend and he did. He did when he entered the fun house and lit it on fire. It was Rollins burning it all down, making a deal with the devil to get to Wyatt, but ended up losing himself to the Fiend’s evil.
Wyatt would go on to hold the Universal Championship for 118 days until eventually dropping it to Goldberg at Super Showdown in what proved to be a controversial decision, although one I completely agree with, but that’s a discussion for another post, perhaps.
This would lead him to a Wrestlemania feud with John Cena, who was making his return just to tell the WWE Universe he was stepping aside and not taking a match on the upcoming Wrestlemania card. This drew out the Fiend, who would go on to challenge John Cena to a “Firefly Fun House Match” at WM 36.
Cena encounters the Fiend on SD
Because this was a special appearance and not a full-fledged return for Cena, this is an interesting case.
Cena is notorious amongst the IWC for being the ultimate company guy; the guy who was shoved down our throats for over a decade as the next big mainstream star. With that level of success, there comes a certain perception that these individuals use their influence to “bury” other talent, and Cena has (sometimes unfairly) been accused of this. This is what a lot of the feud was centered around, going back to WM30, where Cena beat Wyatt in a match many believed Wyatt needed to win in order to cement his status as a star. Many also point this moment as the beginning of the end for the Wyatt character, as he struggled to gain footing after losing such a high profile feud, which would also end with Wyatt literally being buried under equipment at Payback.
The buildup leading to this match at Wrestlemania, however, we caught a real glimpse at what the Firefly Fun House really is.
During an in-ring, sit down interview with Michael Cole, Cena would go on to blame Wyatt for being a failure, calling him the most “overhyped, overvalued, over privileged WWE superstar in existence”, leading to Wyatt coming out and confronting Cena with what I believe to be one of the finest promos he’s delivered in his career.
Wyatt crashes Cena’s interview on SD: 03.13.2020
Here’s what Wyatt said in the promo: “....but you do have me all wrong John. You see, I’m not sick; you are. I know why you came here, John, and I know why you can’t say no. You don’t really think that we think that you care about the future, do we? I mean, John Cena cares about John Cena, right? And it doesn’t matter who he has to smash or bury along the way, as long as he gets his spotlight! 6 years ago, at Wrestlemania, you... you took something from me. And I thought about it—a LOT— matter a fact, I thought about it so much, that I wanted to take my hands and push them into my skull and smash my brain into a million pieces just so that I could have 5 seconds of piece without the voices talking to me but the voices they never stopped. And then something magical happened. One day I stopped fighting the voices and I started listening to them. And they took my crooked little world, and they turned it into a majestic fun house! You broke me John, but the Fiend... he put me back together. And at Wrestlemania, it’s going to be a slaughter... you just don’t know it yet. Let me in, John.”
And finally, that brings us to Cena finally entering the Fun House, which I believe happened on the go-home edition of SD before Wrestlemania. In the clip, Cena is cutting a promo about how he didn’t want the match, how Wyatt did, how he’s so brave and selfless and was actually gonna step aside, until the puppets appear at ringside.
Cena enters the Firefly Fun House: 03.27.2020
This is the moment I believe Cena enters the Fiend’s metaphysical world. The puppets begin to tell Cena that he’s going to play with them “forever”, and then announce the arrival of him. The Fiend appears on the balcony, looking down on Cena. This results in a surprisingly long stare down with a jump scare ending where Funhouse Bray appears behind Cena and says “LET ME IN” as the lights go out. When they come back, everyone is gone except for Cena in the ring, alone and shaken.
The match itself was heavily cinematic, taking a journey through the psyche of John Cena, as we watch the Fiend psychologically torture John Cena, eventually leading to the Fiend pinning John Cena in a ring while Wyatt makes the count and ends with Cena disappearing. Which, if you were paying attention, was exactly what Wyatt claimed Cena feared: fading from the spotlight.
Bray Wyatt vs John Cena, Firefly Fun House match Hightlights, 04.05.2020
After winning the title from the Fiend, Goldberg would go on to eventually lose the title to Braun Strowman, who replaced Roman Reigns due to Roman not competing due to his battle with leukemia and the risk of performing during the COVID pandemic. Strowman would then enter a feud with The Fiend, who would pray on the vulnerability of the more recently “humanized” monster among men.
Braun is ready to “let him in”
Braun was fearful of his past. Wyatt was trying to remind Strowman of the monster he truly was, and bring him back into the family. This, I theorize, is the reason Braun was confronted by Funhouse Bray initially, because he cared about Braun. When Braun denied him, The Fiend used psychological attacks to lead Braun back to “the swamp”, by bringing back the “Eater of Worlds” Wyatt, and again, this match was highly cinematic. We were watching someone’s inner psyche, letting him in, and in this case, Braun being lead back to his past, back to the barbaric nature of the “monster”, which is exactly what happened. The Fiend used manipulation tactics and mind games to lead Braun back to his past, using his affection for Alexa, and then, as Strowman believed to have rid himself of Wyatt, he emerged from the water and drug him into “the swamp”, and in turn, buried Strowman’s human side, which is why, when he came back, he had developed a considerable mean streak and stopped at nothing to try and get his hands on the Fiend again.
Braun Strowman vs Bray Wyatt, Swamp Match highlights, Extreme Rules, 07.19.2020
Braun’s appearance in the Fun House saw him viciously beat Fun House Bray. Again, when we view the fun house as an idea, a concept, the fact that Braun came unhinged in the fun house was merely the physical represention of Braun allowing him in and embracing the monster he was meant to be. This is confirmed by Wyatt’s comment before being attacked; “what took you so long?” meaning, what took him so long to embrace the entity of evil that consumes Wyatt.
Braun attacks Bray in the Fun House
This is also where Alexa Bliss comes into the picture.
Alexa Bliss caught in the crossfire
Alexa Bliss consumed by the Fiend
Alexa Bliss was consumed by the Fiend because of what she was going through. For both Bray and Bliss, it was a feeling of abandonment and loneliness, which I believe is why Bliss was “chosen” to be “healed” by Wyatt. She accepted this evil entity to consume her much in the way it did Wyatt, as her anger and feelings of abandonment from Nikki Cross and Braun Strowman lead her to becoming another vessel for the Fiend, a mouthpiece, since I believe The Fiend will take a more permanent presence after the end of TLC and given that he doesn’t seem to talk much, Bliss will play as a perfect mouthpiece for the “new” Fiend.
Now he wants to play.
Play, as in “playground”.
Alexa’s playground.
Which I could easily see taking the place of “A Moment of Bliss” segments to serve as a way to reintroduce the new version of the Fiend. She did say, after all, that he might come to her Playground, which, due to the cinematic element of it all, suggests that this is meant to be viewed through the same lens as you would any other piece of cinema. Bray Wyatt is creating exactly that: live cinema. Wyatt is a big fan of horror, and the Fiend, IMO, is meant to be viewed as more of its own entity, and the world that is the “Firefly Fun House” is a supernatural projection into the mind of Bray Wyatt; now that the Fiend has been laid to rest in what I would assume is probably hell, I’m curious to see whether or not Alexa’s Playground will take the place of the Firefly Fun House for a while, or if Funhouse Bray was unaffected; although, I have a feeling that Funhouse Bray will be gone for a while. It’s likely that we’re going to be seeing and hearing a lot more Alexa Bliss and her “Alexa’s Playground” segments.
Alexa’s Playground segment, RAW, 12.21.2020
As for Pearce? Simple. The Fiend has shown the ability to merge realities, to project the psyche’s of those he inhabits into our physical world, as we’ve seen recently with superstars like Matt Riddle and R-Truth interacting with puppets like Huskus and Ramblin’ Rabbit. But these puppets weren’t always visible to those in our world. There were multiple times puppets could be found in random backstage cutscenes, as superstars and commentators were seemingly oblivious to the fact. When Wyatt or Bliss enters the Fun House, I don’t believe they do so physically; the reason for this is based around Nikki Cross’ interaction with Alexa Bliss, who was revealed to be assumedly possessed by the Fiend.
Alexa Bliss is possessed by the Fiend, RAW, 11.02.2020
Because Nikki was approaching Alexa while possessed by the Fiend, she was not able to break through to her. I believe the reason Pearce was able to communicate with Wyatt is because he appealed to him by speaking to Wyatt in “character”, which is why McMahon gave Pearce the postman’s outfit before he left to seek out Wyatt to sign the contract. When we saw Pearce “arrive” in the Fun House, I believe it was more projection, and what we were seeing was nothing more than delusions within the mind of Wyatt being projected by The Fiend.
McMahon orders Pearce to seek out Bray Wyatt, SD, 08.28.2020
“Postman” Pearce “arrives” at the Fun House, SD, 08.28.2020
So, coming full circle, is the Firefly Fun House “real”?
In short, I believe the answer is “no”.
I believe that the Fun House is nothing more than an abstract idea, a place that only exists in spirit (unless he decides otherwise), a place where Wyatt (and now Bliss) can mentally escape to, a “safe space” where their pain and emotions are transformed and manifest as friendly puppets, meant to be viewed through a cinematic lens.
I also theorize that certain superstars were able to “visit” the FFH because he saw the potential for evil, the vulnerability, doubt —fear— and took special interest to bring them to his world. Their appearance in the fun house is merely a supernatural projection into the broken psyche of Bray Wyatt, symbolic of opponents letting him in, which in turn brings them into his fm, the evil that inhabits the vessel Bray Wyatt, exposing their innermost fears in the form of a “match”, usually cinematic (in Seth’s case, a Cell cloaked in red light; cinematic in its own right), that ends with the Fiend standing tall, the fears of his opponents manifesting themselves, signifying a change in character for those who have “let him in”.

Rebooking Randy Orton's Title Run (2020-2021)

Authors Notes
When Randy Orton defeated Drew at Hell in a Cell many believed that he'd have quite a long reign as the champion, well of course this didn't happen because he dropped it 22 days later to Drew AGAIN which made the Title Run feel worthless in every single way. Instead of having Randy have another lack luster reign as WWE Champion I have decided to book Randy from when he won the Title at Hell in a Cell to WrestleMania. This is not a rebooking of WHEN or HOW he should have won it, anyone with a mind knows the time for him to win it was in his first or second match not his third but that is besides the point. Let's begin by doing the Build Up to Survivor Series. This is long but bare with me because it's pure gold. Yes I'm also booking other mini feuds on the side
Build Up to Survivor Series
As much as I love The Fiend I don't believe he should ever go for the World Title, a character and gimmick like him has no place feuding for a World Title, he's better than that. Did the Undertaker need a World Title Reign? No. Instead of involving The Fiend we will keep the same build up, Miz TV segments that teases a feud between The Miz and Orton, Drew wanting his title back, and Keith Lee making a name for himself on the Raw Roster. Drew is scheduled to have a match with Orton for the WWE Championship ahead of Survivor Series and during that match Orton wins via heel means, let's say he low blows Drew which costs him the match but allows him to retain the Championship.
Survivor Series - Randy Orton v. Roman Reigns
Randy Orton of course takes on Roman Reigns in the main event in a first ever match up, booking this match would be strange however I feel it could be booked correctly if both men play to there best heel sides. I can imagine an RKO counter to the Superman Punch which would be an awesome counter but as much as I'd put Randy over I can't simply because it'd derail Roman on Smackdown. Orton would lose the match after a hard fought battle and after Heyman saves Reigns with a "Foot on the Ropes" spot. Reigns would pick up the win off of a Spear after Randy goes for the running knee to the head of Reigns.
Build Up to TLC
As much as I hate to do it the feud must conclude with one final match between Orton and Drew at TLC, instead of just rehashing the feud build it around the fact that "If I were Champion I could have defeated Roman Reigns" in which Randy would basically say "You've had more than one chance to defeat Roman and you've lost every time". The Miz continues to tease a cash in ahead of there TLC Match as well which furthers the possible feud between The Miz and Orton
TLC - Randy Orton v. Drew McIntyre in a TLC Match
The match I'd imagine would go on for at least 25 to 30 minutes, it would be brutal for Randy for most of it since he's dealing with an enraged McIntyre however in the end Randy would pick up the victory off of a RKO off the ladder which allows him to climb the ladder and retain the championship. The Miz would not cash in during this match for somewhat obvious reasons.
Build Up to Legends Night
So some context, after Drew loses at TLC he continues his relationship storyline with Sheamus and forms a Tag Team in the Tag Team Division however it goes slow, there is still a major part of Drew that wants to regain his title and this somewhat drives an edge through both men. Sheamus believes Drew should focus on the tag team and not focus on the title anymore while Drew sees the team as somewhat of a way to meet ends, they begin a feud with the Raw Tag Team Champions The Hurt Business which would be quite a damn good rivalry. In the main event of the show there would be a Fatal Fourway between Keith Lee, Matt Riddle, A.J. Styles, and Braun Strowman for a chance at the WWE Championship on next weeks show, this is done in part to keep building Randy as Champion and actually make his somewhat of a fighting champion. Keith Lee would win this match and would go on to face Randy at... Raw Legends Night.
Raw Legends Night - Keith Lee vs Randy Orton
Similar to actual Legends Night, Randy Orton would patrol backstage and would basically bully legends such as Ric Flair, Big Show, Hulk Hogan (assaults him cause Screw Hulk Hogan), Mark Henry, and Shawn Michaels. Also on the show The Hurt Business takes on Drew and Sheamus (Celtic Cross or Union maybe? Not gonna give them a name) in which The Hurt Business would win with a roll up by Cedric on Drew which would continue this Sheamus v. Drew feud in the future. Keith Lee would have a star making performance however would lose to a RKO from a Big Bang Catastrophe (imagine that freaking move dude). In a storyline that ACTUALLY makes sense, Randy Orton is confronted by Goldberg near the end of the Show which sets up Goldberg v. Orton at the RR. The confrontation would most likely result in Goldberg and Randy brawling for a small time but ending with Goldberg winning because... Goldberg.
Build Up to the Royal Rumble
The Raw after Raw: Legends Night (hate that show) would start off with Randy on Miz TV which would of course cause some tension because The Miz is Mr. Money in the Bank. Goldberg would also be on the show and both men would confront each other and Randy being Randy would cut a sick as hell promo on Goldberg and would basically say how he's an old out of date legend and that he's the legend killer. The Miz would also insight the rage of Goldberg along with Morrison and the end of the segment would have Goldberg with the help of Drew and Sheamus against Randy, Miz, and Morrison but since we all know Goldberg would never compete on Raw it'd be Keith, Drew, and Sheamus vs Randy, Miz, and Morrison. Randy would be a hardcore heel against the likes of Drew and would use Drew's hatred and desire to win back the title to his advantage. Sheamus would be pinned due to Randy moving Sheamus in front of a failed Claymore in which when Drew stood he would be nailed with an RKO as JOHN MORRISON GETS THE PIN. Screw WWE for not allowing him to win anything. The next two weeks would pretty much just be promo packages for Randy v. Goldberg
Royal Rumble - Randy Orton vs Goldberg
Kicking off the show, Randy Orton would defeat Goldberg with a RKO counter off of the spear in a record breaking time of 45 seconds. Two RKO's was all it took to beat Goldberg because screw Goldberg. Sheamus and Drew take on The Hurt Business for the Tag Team Championships and The Hurt Business retains after Sheamus takes the pin which angers Sheamus quite a bit however the team does not split... yet. In the Men's Royal Rumble Daniel Bryan wins and heads on to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania for the Universal Title (avoiding all spoilers). Randy watches the Rumble the entire time and it's obvious he's looking for someone...
Current Raw Champions
WWE Champion - Randy Orton
United States Champion - Keith Lee (has a feud with The Hurt Business)
Raw Tag Team Champions - The Hurt Business
Build Up to Elimination Chamber
In the build up to the elimination chamber it's revealed that Randy will... NOT compete in the Elimination Chamber (builds heat) due to supposed "Injury" to his ribs. The competitors in the Elimination Chamber are revealed to be Bobby Lashley, Matt Riddle, A.J. Styles, Elias, Mustafa Ali, and finally... Sheamus which defeated Drew to make it in. It was a friendly bout but more cracks form between Sheamus and Drew. Randy would taunt Drew and would purposely bully him to an extent saying that "Sheamus was always better" or something along the lines to make Drew think about his relationship with Sheamus which Sheamus in a lot of ways has been neutral.
Elimination Chamber Match
As all men are entering the chamber one does not make it... this is call back to when Kofi Kingston was beaten down and not allowed in the Cell in which Edge inserted himself into the Chamber. Edge attacks Elias (yes this happens) and enters the Chamber in his place but little did he know Elias was starting the thing off against Bobby Lashley. Edge would battle his way against everyone in the chamber to eventually win the match, he sets up future feuds with Elias, A.J. Styles (BIG FUTURE FEUD), and Mustafa Ali. It's important to note that all throughout the chamber it keeps flashing backstage to Randy who is watching from the comfort of his couch and when Edge wins he spits out water out of anger.
Build Up to Fastlane
Randy and Edge will not be facing each other at Fastlane because this match is a WrestleMania level match however to build the feud Randy actually denies Edge's opportunity siting that "You can't force you're way into a title match" and when Randy is cutting this promo Elias nails him with a guitar in the back (attacks Edge, worded that wrong but you get the point). This sets up an interim feud between Elias and Edge and in the tag picture Sheamus and Drew begins a feud with Retribution and the winner of this feud faces The Hurt Business at WrestleMania, in the main event it's Jeff Hardy v. Matt Riddle v.A.J. Styles for a chance at the WWE Championship at Fastlane and Jeff Hardy wins. So the match card would look a little like this
The Hurt Business v. Miz and Morrison for the Raw Tag Team Championships (Yes I Booked this)
Sheamus and Drew McIntyre v. Retribution (Winner goes to WrestleMania)
Keith Lee v. Matt Riddle for the US Title
Elias v. Edge and if Edge loses Elias faces Randy at WrestleMania
Randy Orton v. Jeff Hardy for the WWE Championship
For the Smackdown Side (I'm not booking Smackdown but...) Roman Reigns v. Shinsuke Nakamura, Alpha Academy v. Dirty Dogs or whatever the hell, Big E v. Apollo Crews, and probably a feud between Aleister Black and Owens which Black wins (personal bias).
Fastlane - Randy Orton vs Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy would of course lose to Randy Orton which would once again have a highlight RKO, this feud alone would take a lot from what happened in the past between Hardy and Orton and would bring it back. After the match however Orton would go for the "I'm gonna rip you're ear off" crap but before he could he'd be attacked by Edge which won his match against Elias which would drive Orton off. Edge and Hardy would embrace in the ring as long time foes, allies, and friends. On the rest of the card you'd have Sheamus and Drew finally turning on each other with Drew claymore kicking Sheamus which in a way is warranted due to the constant hot tags, Keith defeats Riddle in a good showing, The Hurt Business of course retain and on the Smackdown side... well it's pretty predictable besides the fact Apollo wins the IC Title (as a heel).
Build Up to WrestleMania
In the build up to WrestleMania there is of course confrontations between Randy and Edge but everyone knows the story so not much TRUE building is needed in that aspect. Drew and Sheamus continue there new feud which neither is heel or face in this, leaving the fans to kinda decide who they wanna cheer and boo. Retribution starts there feud with The Hurt Business and Mustafa Ali begins a feud with Keith Lee for the United States Championship. Everyone has something going on basically.
WrestleMania Night 1 - Randy Orton v. Edge
The match would be a straight up Extreme Rules match where both men would battle each other viciously, the match would of course end in Edge winning the WWE Championship and ending this feud once and for all. Randy would have a 169 Day title reign which is well deserved and I'd say this reign was a very good one for Orton. The other matches would see Retribution winning the Tag Titles, Mustafa Ali winning the US Title (YES I DID THIS DEAL WITH IT), Sheamus defeating Drew (Part 1 of this feud), and finally the Raw Womens stuff which I haven't touched on at all.
WrestleMania Night 2 - Roman v. Bryan
Basically I'd say Bryan wins the Universal Championship for one last run in the company however to set up his first feud, and I know this might be unpopular but imagine the shock and surprise heat from this, The Miz cashes in on Bryan and wins which gives the Miz his well deserved title (probably lasts a month or two) but Bryan would probably win it back at Money in the Bank or somewhere close to that to set up Miz v. Morrison.
Final Thoughts
To be honest I believe this to be a FAR better run for Orton instead of a 22 day reign and I feel everything else happening on the card it kinda neat. Edge was the logical choice to defeat Orton for the title and probably post WrestleMania he'd feud with Elias, A.J. Styles, Mustafa Ali (maybe), Keith, and others, he'd have a damn good reign. But this basically concludes my booking, give me you're thoughts and if you wish I could do a follow up of booking Edge's title reign which could be quite fun. Thank you and have a fantastic day!

Fantasy Booking Wrestlemania 37

Just a brief look at what Wrestlemania 37 could look like, pre Royal Rumble.
Night One
Pre-Show Match #1: Winner Gets a Tag Title Shot of Their Choosing- The Street Profits vs. Lucha House Party vs. Retribution [Ali & T-Bar] vs. Cutler & Blake
Pre-Show Match #2: King Corbin Open Challenge (Answered by Samoa Joe, who beats Corbin in about 45 seconds).
-----------------
Match #1: Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal- From all accounts the theme of Wrestlemania 37 will be legends heavy, so this card will have a lot of legends featured on it, hopefully in ways of putting over new talent. The Battle Royal, however, will not be one of those moments, as it serves to simply pop the crowd. Thus the winner of the Battle Royal is...Hulk Hogan. Just give the crowd (this would be the first match that a live crowd of this size would see in over a year, if things hold) a feel good moment to ease them into the show. Hogan can't take any bumps really, so winning a battle royal is the only place for him to pick up a win, having one last Wrestlemania moment where he eliminates an evil wrestler like...say...Jinder Mahal.
Match #2: Intercontinental Championship Match- Big E (c) vs. Seth Rollins- With Big E's singles push in full swing, he starts a proper feud with a returning Seth Rollins shortly after the Royal Rumble, with Rollins acting like a full on heel in the process and basically declaring himself as the IC Champion in waiting and disregarding Big E entirely. Big E upsets Rollins though and wins a competitive match.
Match #3: Ladder Match for the MITB Contract- The Miz vs. John Morrison- After the two mix it up at the Royal Rumble, Morrison and Miz eventually split apart at Elimination Chamber (with both men being in the start of the match) with the MITB contract hanging in the balance. Morrison does some crazy spots off the ladder, but the winner is The Miz who retains his contract...for now.
Match #4: Charlotte Flair vs. Trish Stratus- The first "legends" match, as the Diva of Yesterday faces the Woman of Today. It's essentially face vs face, as Charlotte challenges Trish after Trish makes an appearance on Raw. Like many of these matches, the legend is here to make the current day star look good, and Charlotte picks up the victory.
Match #5: Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match: Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode (c) vs. Dominik & Rey Mysterio- Father and Son team up to challenge Ziggler and Roode for the Smackdown tag titles, and the major swerve (not really major, I think) is that Dominik turns heel on Rey and abandons him halfway through the match, leaving Ziggler and Roode to pick up the victory and retain the titles.
Match #6: Raw Women's Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs. Rhea Ripley- The winner of the Women's Royal Rumble, Ripley moves to the Raw roster and challenges Asuka for the title. A hard fought match, with Ripley narrowly defeating Asuka to win the title, though the two will have several matches in the coming months with a lengthy feud.
Match #7: Firefly Fun House Match- "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt vs. The Undertaker- Bringing the Undertaker back is not likely to happen. But given that this can be a cinematic match and both men have "special powers", there's not likely to be a lot of wrestling involved. It essentially ends in a stalemate, with the Undertaker acknowledging Wyatt as the new special attraction character and disappearing into the mists.
Match #8: John Cena vs. Goldberg- Your "dream match" of the night, and arguably the selling point of the first night is the first ever meeting between the two unstoppable forces. Short match, as Goldberg is incapable of anything else, and Cena wins in a legend vs legend encounter.
Match #9: MAIN EVENT- Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Daniel Bryan- Bryan is the winner of the men's Royal Rumble, the feel good story against the Bloodline. With Jey Uso at his side (more on him later), Reigns narrowly defeats Bryan to close out Night 1 by retaining the title.
Night 2
Pre-Show Match #1: WWE Women's Tag Title Match- Shayna Bazler & Nia Jax (c) vs. Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke- Simple match, with the heels retaining the titles.
Pre-Show Match #2: Raw Tag Team Title Match- Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin vs. The Street Profits vs. The Broserweights- The original story had Pete Dunne returning from NXT to team with Riddle to take on Alexander and Benjamin for the tag titles, but The Street Profits added themselves into the match courtesy of winning their fatal fourway tag match the night before. It throws a monkey wrench into everything, as The Street Profits win the belts, moving to Raw temporarily.
-------
Match #1: Women's Battle Royal- Unlike the men's Battle Royal, this one can serve to put a younger star over, as Io Shirai continues her dominant run and picks up the victory, last eliminating Alexa Bliss.
Match #2: Smackdown Women's Championship: Sasha Banks vs. Bayley vs. Bianca Belair- A triple threat between these three would be a great "unofficial" opener (since the battle royal is starting things off officially). Bianca picks up the victory in an upset over the two Horsewomen.
Match #3: Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura & Murphy vs. Sami Zayn, Adam Cole & Roderick Strong- Zayn attempted to recruit Owens, Nakamura and Murphy to his new version of an Artist Collective, only to be shunned. In response, Zayn cost all three men matches at various points (Owens a return match with Reigns, Nakamura a match with Reigns at Elimination Chamber, and Murphy in a match to get a spot against Reigns), leading to a beatdown of Zayn...who managed to get the Undisputed Era on his side. Cole and Strong represent them here, but Fish and O'Reilly are at ringside. Undisputed Era win, but after the match attack Zayn and make it clear that they are out only for themselves going forward.
Match #4: Randy Orton vs. Aleister Black- Following his feud with The Fiend, Orton's off kilter antics lead him to enter a psychological feud with Smackdown's Aleister Black, with the two men playing mind games with each other over the course of several weeks. A highly technical match, with Black picking up the big victory.
Match #5: US Title Match- Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Sheamus- Merely to give Sheamus something to do, he accepts an open challenge from Lashley for the US Title, but Lashley wins in the end.
Match #6: Jey Uso vs. Jimmy Uso- Jimmy returns at the Rumble and drama plays out between the two brothers in the match, leading to both men eliminated. The high drama continues with Jey aligned with Roman, and Jimmy bringing in the big guns in the form of Rikishi to add to the whole affair. In the end it almost appears as if Jimmy is daring Jey to put him away, but Jey doesn't want to. Rikishi tries to talk to his sons, and a family bonding moment appears to happen...only for Roman to show back up and both Usos attacking their father, Jimmy turning heel and joining the Tribal Chief. However, The Rock can show up to save Rikishi from further humiliation, setting the stage for one year later when he returns to face Roman.
Match #7: AJ Styles vs. Edge- A match happening for the first time ever after their interactions in the Royal Rumble match. Styles vs. Edge would have been a classic for the ages...ten years ago. Now it would still be good, just probably not as good. Styles wins a close matchup with the Hall of Famer.
Match #8: NXT Championship Match- Finn Balor (c) vs. Karrion Kross- I actually take the NXT championship match away from the Takeover and put it near the end of Night 2 to give it a higher priority. Kross fights for the title he never lost, but loses to Finn Balor in the end, only for Balor to be confronted by Cesaro, who is no entering NXT because WWE does f-all with him on the main roster, so let him have some fun.
Match #9: WWE Championship Match- Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Keith Lee- Probably not likely to happen, but my show so...Lee and Lesnar have a confrontation at the Rumble, with the Limitless One responsible for Lesnar's elimination. They later cross paths at Elimination Chamber as the final two in the Chamber match, when Brock F-5's Lee so hard that the ring actually breaks inside the Chamber, resulting in both men being named #1 contender. However it is McIntyre who defies the odds and beats Brock for the second year in a row. However his victory is short lived, as the next night on Raw Lesnar shows up (for the last time in a while) and wrecks Drew, resulting in The Miz cashing in and winning the WWE Title.
-----
Probably sucks (retro booking is more my thing), but it's the best I could come up with in a short amount of time.

Cancelled/Postponed matches due to the pandemic.

Due to the pandemic, we've seen quite a lot of big matches get cancelled or postponed on pretty much every wrestling promotion. Here's a look back at the biggest matches that got scrapped this year, its ripple effects plus speculation on how different things would be if the matches went ahead.
Roman Reigns vs Goldberg (WWE Wrestlemania): This is a big one. After Goldberg beat The Fiend for the Universal Championship on Super Showdown, Roman Reigns immediately challenged him to a match for Wrestlemania. Roman decided to sit out the pandemic due to safety concerns and was replaced by Braun Strowman without any build up or explanation. Braun beat Goldberg for the title in a quick match and had quite a lacklustre reign. One wonders if we would have a heel Tribal Chief Reigns today if this match would have happened. He would surely have won and the crowd would most probably shit on the match because of Fiend dropping the title and another Reigns vs part timer main event. Reigns would probably have had Braun's trajectory and feud with Wyatt and other SD heels in the months after Wrestlemania.
Another technically "cancelled" match on Wrestlemania was the triple threat ladder match between Usos, New Day and Miz/Morrison. After Miz got sick, it got changed to a triple threat match between Jimmy Uso, Kofi and John Morrison. Miz/Morrison retained. 100% would have been the same result if the match went as planned. Also worth noting that Fiend vs Cena and Undertaker vs Aj Styles would have been normal 1 on 1 matches.
Inner Circle vs The Elite Blood and Guts match (AEW Dynamite Blood & Guts): Inner Circle and The Elite were set to collide in an old school War Games match on a special episode of AEW Dynamite. The match got postponed and AEW moved their tapings to closed sets in Daily's Place Jacksonville. Inner Circle and The Elite eventually had their big blowoff match in Double Or Nothing in a Stadium Stampede match with the major difference (aside from the match type) being Cody not being involved in the feud and the addition of Matt Hardy instead. If this match went ahead I think the result would be the same with The Elite winning. Matt Hardy would also probably still be in the match replacing the injured Nick Jackson. Since the cancellation of the match, Cody has had zero interaction with The Elite and has been exclusively involved in TNT title scene and been backed up by Nightmare Family. Could it be that this match would have shown us a more natural progression of his disassociation with The Elite? Double Or Nothing card would also be drastically different. Kenny andHangman would have a title defence and Jericho would have a big match. I'm guessing it would either have been against Orange Cassidy, starting this feud earlier or Jungle Boy. Jericho did say that his feud with Jungle Boy got postponed due to COVID and Meltzer also said they were holding off till crowds come back to give Jungle Boy a big push.
Other matches that got cancelled were Lucha Bros vs Best Friends in a parking lot brawl and Luchasaurus vs Wardlow Lumberjack match. Best Friends eventually had a parking lot brawl with Proud & Powerful months later which they won and Luchasarus vs Wardlow happened at a later date. I think Lucha Bros would have won this match because Death Triangle was just established and they needed to look strong.
Elite Deletion - Matt Hardy vs Chris Jericho (AEW): This is a weird one. Broken Matt invited Chris "hole of the arse" Jericho to the Hardy Compound and that invitation was never talked about ever again. Since the Stadium Stampede Matt Hardy's been feuding with a different Inner Circle member which is somehow still going on to this day. Jericho recently said he never wants to do a match with Matt Hardy on AEW, oh and also Matt has dropped his broken gimmick. Safe to say this one is completely dead. Shame, I for one think it would have been absolutely hilarious,
Jon Moxley vs Josh Barnett (Bloodsport)/Jon Moxley vs David Starr (PROGRESS)/Jon Moxley vs Zack Sabre Jr (NJPW): Sigh, poor Mox. Just this week he worked Bloodsport against Chris Dickinson and will eventually have his match against Barnett. The David Starr match is never happening for obvious reasons(fuck that prick), and the ZSJ match looks dead for now with KENTA being the #1 contender for the US title. Moxley would have won all these matches, he was not gonna lose to anyone while being the AEW World Champion.
Tetsuya Naito vs Hiromu Takahashi (NJPW Anniversary): The traditional IWGP Heavyweight vs IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champions match would have seen the collision of two LIJ teammates. The match that I'm most bummed out about. Naito would obviously win and it would have been a fantastic match.
New Japan Cup 2020 (NJPW): Look a how different the brackets were https://cdn.sescoops.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/njcup-2020.png
I really doubt EVIL would have won like he did after NJPW got restarted. My guess is EVIL would have beaten Naito at Dominion and Naito would have gotten his win back on Wrestle Dynasty at Madison Square Garden. I think Jay White vs SANADA would have been the final and I could see either of them winning.
ROH Supercard Of HonoROH Anniversary: Really sad that when it looked like the company was gonna bounce back after a dismal 2019, everything went to shit. Big matches included Jay White vs Marty Scurll, Ryu Lee vs Bandido for the TV title, RUSH vs Mark Haskins for the ROH title etc. I don't think we will ever see Jay vs Marty because of Marty's allegations.
Feel free to discuss, talk about other matches and add your own speculations. I don't really follow stuff like Stardom, Impact, NWA, GCW, Joey Janela's Spring Break etc but I know they all cancelled stuff.

Rebooking the Universal Championship in 2020

Wow, isn't it crazy that when the belt isn't on Brock all year, the Universal title can actually be somewhat decent? 2020 was certainly the best year for the big colorful, but by no means was it a perfect year, plagued with bad booking decisions going into the year, the Bray Wyatt was eventually going to lose the title and to an extent his steam, but to Goldberg? I hate wrestling sometimes I'll tell you. Anyways, I took the liberty of tweaking the titles run to make it somewhat better, but not changing everything, as somethings I actually liked, mainly the bit at the end with Roman Reigns. So without further ado, here is my mf booking.
Build to Royal Rumble-
I would keep the build to this match the same. Bryan gets his hair ripped out and gets angry at the Fiend for retreating leading to a strap match between the two.
Royal Rumble-
The strap match was a classic, so naturally, I will keep that the same as well. Bryan has his moments where he looks like he could win, but ultimately the Fiend’s power is too overwhelming.
Build to Super ShowDown-
Ok, so I guess the build to this will be that Oldberg wants to defeat the unstoppable, proving himself once again to be a dominant monster.
Super ShowDown-
The Fiend wins in a squash match and Goldberg pissing retires.
Build to Elimination Chamber-
The Miz and Daniel Bryan wrestle a number one contender’s match which eventually ends when SmackDown goes off air. The next week, we learned that due to filming conflicts with 205 Live, the match had to be called off early. As a result, both men are granted a Universal title match at Elimination Chamber.
Elimination Chamber-
This match sees Miz and Bryan face off against Funhouse Bray. Miz and Bryan work together to take Wyatt out of the picture, and eventually, Miz wins via roll up on Bryan. But wait, why take the title off the Fiend? It’s simple, Bray doesn’t need the title, and the Firefly Funhouse doesn’t need the title. The championship wouldn’t feel like a big deal.
Build to WrestleMania-
As Miz celebrates his win, John Morrison reminds him that Miz promised him the first shot at his title. Miz is very reluctant, refusing to give Morrison the title shot unless he beats a series of opponents, which he does.
WrestleMania-
John Morrison as a world champion is all I’ve ever wanted, but now is not the time or the place. Therefore, after a hard fought battle and a ref bump that sees Miz low blow Morrison and hit the Skull Crushing Finale, Miz retains the title.
Build to Money in the Bank-
Morrison lobbies for another title match, as he feels he was cheated out of winning the Universal title (yeah I started a feud at Mania, cry about it!) Miz does not want to give Morrison another match, and pits him against Braun Strowman. Strowman beats Morrison and he is announced as the number one contender to the surprise of Miz. “BuT wHaT aBouT tHe FeuD wiTh MorRisOn?!?” Shut up and let me tell the story, it’s long term friccing booking.
Money in the Bank-
Strowman dominates his match against Miz, and it looks like we’ll have a new champion. Right as Strowman is about to hit a running powerslam, the lights go out and the Fiend appears. The Fiend attacks Braun Strowman, starting a feud between those two.
Build to Backlash-
With SmackDown wanting to outdo Raw in terms of match quality at Backlash, Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles are put in a number one contender’s match, which is won by Bryan. Bryan goes on to say that he owes Miz some receipts for what he said about Bryan while he was still retired.
Backlash-
Bryan and Miz have a classic match, with Miz playing the cowardly heel and Bryan playing the plucky baby face. At the end, Bryan sets up for a running knee, but he runs into a superkick, but not by the Miz. John Morrison was the man behind the kick, causing the ref to throw out the match.
Build to the Horror Show at Extreme Rules-
John Morrison explains that Miz said the only way he would be getting close to the Universal Championship was if he helped him win the match. Miz comes out and tells Morrison he lost by DQ, so Morrison will not be receiving a title match. A compromise is set by Adam Pearce, who says there will be a match at SummerSlam, Miz vs Bryan in a ladder match for the Universal Championship. If John Morrison can defeat Miz in a non title falls count anywhere match (a call back to Morrison’s final match in his 2011 run in the company,) Morrison will be added to the ladder match.
The Horror Show at Extreme Rules-
Morrison and the Miz year the house down, with callbacks to the last falls count anywhere match the two had like Morrison jumping off of a fixture of the stage. Morrison wins after hitting a starship pain with a chair onto Miz. Morrison picks up the win and will be added to the ladder match.
Build to SummerSlam-
Miz, Morrison and Bryan all make their intentions known. Miz wants to retain his title by any means necessary because being champ means a better life for his kids (what a heel,) Morrison wants to give Miz what he deserves and take his title from him, and Bryan now believes he owes Miz and Morrison receipts after Backlash. Morrison and Bryan have a match with Miz as special guest referee which ends in a double count out after Miz makes the ten count in less than 2 seconds.
SummerSlam-
I was originally going to give Morrison the championship here, but then I realized this was the night a certain big dog returned. So Morrison’s title run will need to wait until later, but I promise it’s coming. Instead, after a match filled with carnage which sees Morrison hit starship pain off a ladder onto the Miz, Daniel Bryan is the one who wins the ladder match. Reigns comes out after the match and spears everyone out of their boots.
Build to Payback-
The Miz and Roman Reigns are announced to face Bryan at Payback for the title. That is all, this show only has a week of build.
Payback-
Miz and Bryan start the match and wrestle for about 15 minutes. When both men are exhausted, Reigns comes out, hits a spear in both men, and pins Bryan clean in the ring. Bryan losing the title has one crucial point to it that the Fiend didn’t have. The fans won’t rage because a supernatural deity lost in such a crippling manner, but instead, their favorite underdog made it to the top once again but was knocked down a week later.
Build to Clash of Champions-
I would keep the build for the title here the same. Uso wants to have a cousinly battle with Reigns, but Reigns starts to get more aggressive.
Meanwhile, Miz wants Otis’ Money in the Bank, but so does John Morrison. The match is made for a triple threat at Clash of Champions for the briefcase.
Clash of Champions-
Morrison wins the Money in the Bank briefcase by pinning Miz after Heavy Machinery hits a trash compactor on Miz and then Tucker turning on Otis.
The Reigns Uso match goes exactly the same as it did in real life, as that match was an absolute unexpected classic.
Build to Hell in a Cell-
Once again, stellar build here, keep it the same. Reigns wants Uso to admit he is the tribal chief but Uso refuses leading to an I Quit Hell in a Cell match.
Hell in a Cell-
Once again, keep the match the same. Reigns tears Uso apart but Uso won’t quit causing other Uso to try and quit on his behalf but then Reigns gets other Uso in a guillotine causing Uso to quit.
Build to Survivor Series-
The WWE title is flopping back and forth between McIntyre and Orton like in real life, causing Reigns to feel like he can’t properly prepare for his match. As compensation for his frustrations, WWE management makes his contract iron clad, meaning Reigns can do anything he wants with no repercussions. McIntyre prevails as champion, setting up the two’s match for Survivor Series.
Survivor Series-
Reigns vs McIntyre is a brutal match, with both men exchanging offense. Reigns eventually gets the upper hand after interference from Uso (is Jimmy the one not injured? I don’t know but Vince probably doesn’t either.) Reigns hits a thunderous spear and wins the match. After the match, Reigns destroys McIntyre with a chair, causing the referee to step in and try and stop Reigns. Knowing he can’t get in trouble, Reigns picks the ref up by the armpits and sends him flying over the top rope before continuing his assault on McIntyre, eventually crushing his ankle (SPOILER: This will lead to a match between Reigns and McIntyre at WrestleMania.) Out storms the security guards, who convince Roman to go to the back. And then put comes John Morrison, who cashes in Money in the Bank and wins the WWE Championship from Drew McIntyre (I told you he’d win eventually.)
Build to TLC-
Right, so at first, I didn’t want Owens to challenge for the title here, but his promo work with Heyman was so good that I have reconsidered. But here, Owens is more hesitant to face Reigns, because Reigns is dangerous, he has an iron clad contract. Owens agrees to the match, but is sure to proceed with caution.
TLC-
Owens exhibits a great deal of caution. When Reigns sets up a table, Owens knocks it down. If Reigns sets up a ladder that isn’t under the title, Owens pushes it over. Owens realizes he is in the ring with a monster, and that he needs to stay healthy for his family. Reigns still manages to pummel Owens though, with no help from Uso. There’s this platform set up in the ring, it’s made of two ladders and a table. Owens is standing on top and he’s about to get the title down when Reigns drills him with a spear, sending him off of the platform crashing to the mat below. Reigns drags himself to the top of the ladder and retrieves the belt. He looks to inflict more damage on Owens, but Owens escapes through the crowd.

Rebooking entirety of WWE in 2020!

In video format- Rebooking WWE in 2020
WWE in 20 20 has been both great as well as horrible for storylines. SmackDown has consistently given us great storylines, such as Roman vs Jey, or Bayley and Sasha; but however, RAW gave us 73 total matches of Randy Orton vs Drew McIntyre, and Lana vs announcers table. Let's see how I would book this year, as the last video of 2020. I will be talking about how I would book the top WWE World Championships, similar to my WWE in 2021 booking. This includes the RAW and SmackDown's Women's Championship, Universal Championship and the WWE Championship. The current champions at the beginning of 2020 are The Fiend as Universal Champion, Bayley as SmackDown Champion, Becky Lynch as RAW Champion, and Brock Lesnar as WWE Champion. We start at Royal Rumble in January, and ends at TLC in December .
So, at Royal Rumble, we have exactly the same matches. Brock Lesnar enters the men's rumble, Lynch vs Asuka for the RAW Women's Championship, Bayley vs Evans for the SmackDown Women's Championship, and The Fiend vs Daniel Bryan for the Universal Championship. We also have the Women's Royal Rumble. All the results are same as real life, as Lynch , Bayley and Fiend all retain their titles. Drew McIntyre wins the men's rumble match, however, instead of Charlotte, Shayna Baszler wins the women's Royal Rumble.
This leads to Super Showdown. Again, I am keeping every match same. Bayley vs Naomi for SmackDown Women's Championship, Brock Lesnar vs Ricochet for the WWE Championship, and The Fiend vs Goldberg for the Universal Championship. Bayley retains, similar to i r l. It is important to mention that here, Bayley turns on Sasha because she mistakenly almost cost Bayley the match. However, the other two matches change a bit. Ricochet gets a bit more offense against Lesnar after he attacks Lesnar's shoulder, but after a 10 minute match, 2 F 5s finish the match. Goldberg vs Fiend however, is a squash match in favor of The Fiend. Wyatt completely dominates Goldberg, and retains his championship under 2 minutes.
Elimination Chamber is a little different. First of all, we are gonna have a men's elimination chamber match. There, we find Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Andrade, and Aleister Black. The Women's Chamber match will consist of Sarah Logan, Ruby Riott, Natalya, Liv Morgan, Asuka and Sasha Banks. The championships will not be defended that day. We see that Black and Sasha win their respective chamber matches.
Finally we come to Wrestlemania 36. Also, Fiend vacates the championship as The Fiend wanted to face Cena at Wrestlemania, but the championship had to be defended against Black. So, we have the firefly funhouse match, and there is a tournament held throughout the weeks, that will determine who would have faced Reigns at Wrestlemania. This tournament is won by Roman Reigns. This would have led to Reigns vs Black, but like real life, Roman pulls out of his match due to the pandemic. So, Aleister Black faces substitution Braun Strowman. Other than that, Bayley faces Sasha Banks for the Smackdown Women's Championship in a 2 out of 3 falls match. Becky Lynch defends her title against Shayna Baszler, and finally Drew McIntyre vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship. Here are the results, Baszler becomes the new RAW Women's Champion after making Becky tap out, Sasha wins the SmackDown Women's Championship, McIntyre becomes the new WWE Championship, and Aleister Black becomes the new Universal Champion.
After Wrestlemania, the next PPV is MITB. Here, all the championship will be defended, as well as two MITB matches. Sasha Banks and Bayley have a rematch for the SmackDown Women's Championship. Drew McIntyre faces Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship, Aleister Black vs The Miz for the Universal Championship, and Shayna Baszler vs Asuka with the RAW Women's Championship on the line. Initially, the idea would have been Becky vs Baszler vs Asuka, but due to Lynch's pregnancy, she would be pulled out of the match. All champions successfully defend their championship, and Charlotte and Sami Zayn win the MITB briefcashes.
Next up is Backlash. Here, Sasha defends her SmackDown Championship against Lacey Evans, Drew McIntyre puts his WWE Championship against Andrade, Aleister Black vs Sheamus for the Universal Championship, and Shayna Baszler vs Nia Jax for the RAW Women's Championship. Again, all champions successfully defend their championship.
After this comes The Horror Show: Extreme Rules. Here, a bunch of interesting matches take place. First, Drew McIntyre vs Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, Shayna Baszler vs Asuka for the RAW Women's Championship, Sasha Banks vs Dana Brooke for the Smackdown Women's Championship, and finally, Aleister Black vs John Morrison for the Universal Championship. The results are as follows, McIntyre retains his championship, Baszler retains her championship, Black retains his championship, and Sasha wins her match against Dana , but Charlotte cashes in to win the SmackDown Women's Championship.
This leads to the biggest party of the summer, Summer Slam. A lot of big matches take place here, as Shayna Baszler defends her RAW Women's Championship against recently called up Rhea Ripley, Sasha Banks vs Bayley vs Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's Championship, Drew McIntyre against recently called up Keith Lee for the WWE Championship, and Aleister Black puts his WWE Championship against the Fiend. The results are, Rhea becomes the new RAW Women's Champion, Charlotte retains her SmackDown Women's Championship, The Fiend defeats Black for the Universal Championship, after which Roman returns similar to real life and beats them both up, and McIntyre retains his title, but Lee has a great showing.
A week later, Payback takes place. Here, Bayley and Sasha have a number one contenders match for the SmackDown Women's title, which Sasha wins. Other than that, Baszler gets her rematch against Ripley, which ends in a double countout, McIntyre faces Lashley for the WWE Championship, which McIntyre retains, and Black, Wyatt and Reigns have a triple threat match for the Universal Championship, which of course Reigns wins.
P.S. From here on forward, I will be booking the Universal Championship picture exactly the same, since it is an almost perfect booking.
I would have had the draft right after this. The important changes to note here are Nakamura and Cesaro move over to RAW, while Owens moves over to SmackDown.
At Clash Of Champions, we have Drew McIntyre vs Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Championship, Roman Reigns vs Jey Uso for the Universal Championship, Charlotte vs Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Championship, and Rhea Ripley vs Shayna Baszler for the RAW Women's Championship in a No Disqualification match. As of the results, McIntyre retains, Roman retains, Charlotte retains, and finally, Shayna wins her match against Ripley to become a 2 time RAW Women's Champion.
This leads to Hell In A Cell, where Rhea Ripley gets her rematch against Shayna Baszler for the RAW Women's Championship in the HIAC, McIntyre vs Nakamura for the WWE Championship, Charlotte Flair vs Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women's Championship, and finally, Roman Reigns vs Jey Uso in a HIAC match for the Universal Championship. The results are, Nakamura wins the WWE Championship, Reigns retains his championship, Belair wins the SmackDown Women's Championship, and Ripley wins back her RAW Women Championship.
Survivor Series brings the brand warfare season around, where we see Nakamura vs Reigns, and Belair vs Rhea Ripley. Both the SmackDown superstars, that is Reigns and Belair win their respective matches, as Baszler distracts Ripley during the match.
The last month we will be talking about is December, and hence the PPV is TLC. Here, Roman Reigns faces Kevin Owens in a TLC match for the Universal Championship, Rhea Ripley vs Shayna Baszler in a TLC match, Nakamura vs McIntyre in a WWE Championship match in a tables match, and finally Bianca Belair vs Charlotte Flair in a chairs match or the SmackDown women's Championship. To cap off the year, every champion retain their championship. But, Sami Zayn cashes in his MITB contract to win the WWE Championship.
I think this booking would be incomplete without talking about how this would impact the corresponding Wrestlemania. So, at Wrestlemania, we will have these matches, 1, Bianca Belair vs Elimination Chamber winner Shayna Baszler for the SmackDown Women's Championship, 2, Roman Reigns vs Elimination Chamber winner Big E for the Universal Championship, 3, Rhea Ripley vs Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair for the RAW Women's Championship, and 4, Shinsuke Nakamura vs Sami Zayn vs Royal Rumble winner Cesaro for the WWE Championship. Wrestlemania ends with Cesaro and Big E as new champions, while Ripley and Belair retain their titles.

Post Raw Discussion Thread 3/2/20

Source: f4w
The announcers ran down tonight’s card. The announcement of Aleister Black vs. AJ Styles seemed to get the biggest reaction.
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman came out to start the show. Heyman said it was their job to hype the fans on WrestleMania but he couldn’t do it. Even though top-to-bottom, this was the most stacked card in decades, the main event of Mania was a shame. The crowd booed.
Heyman said “they” want to sell us on Drew McIntyre but he was a hyped-up fraud. Heyman said Lesnar massacred 15 of the top stars in the company in the Royal Rumble before he was hit in the balls from behind by Ricochet and kicked out of the ring by McIntyre. He called the crowd Pavlovian dogs for cheering this.
He offered no excuse for Lesnar getting eliminated but that was no reason to believe that McIntyre can pin or submit Lesnar at Mania. Heyman called McIntyre a “stupid big bitch” that’s going to get squashed.
McIntyre interrupted. McIntyre stepped in the ring and right up to Lesnar’s face. McIntyre was slightly taller. Lesnar lifted up his shoulders a bit to appear taller before laughing and nodding at McIntyre. Lesnar was about to leave, then turned around to attack, but McIntyre wiped him out with a Claymore Kick.
After McIntyre left, Lesnar continued to sell and began crawling toward his title belt as the crowd chanted “you deserve it.” Byron Saxton said Lesnar has been embarrassed. Lesnar finally got to his feet and the crowd chanted the goodbye song.
Lesnar struggled to the stage when McIntyre appeared and nailed him with another Claymore. The crowd chanted “one more time,” then McIntyre gave him another one. The crowd cheered big for Drew. This was good.
(At the beginning of the segment, the announcers said Lesnar dominated in his successful title defense on Thursday, but didn’t say who he beat. Heyman mentioned Ricochet in his promo in the context of the Rumble match, but didn’t specifically bring up Thursday, either.)
The Street Profits defeated Seth Rollins & Murphy to win the Raw Tag Team Championships
They’re calling this the “last chance” at the titles for the Street Profits. They hyped up the crowd before the match. They wore their purple and red gear which they first wore in Toronto as a nod to the Raptors.
Rollins and Murphy wore black and silver tights. They attacked the Street Profits before the match. The Street Profits initially fought them off, but Montez Ford went for a dive and was caught and driven into the barricade. Angelo Dawkins checked on him as they went to break. Jerry Lawler was so happy to see someone get caught on a dive and thrown into the barricade.
The match began during the break. Ford managed to pull off the dive on both opponents before also hitting a high cross. He gave Rollins a spike DDT and standing moonsault for two. Rollins came back with a slingblade, then he and Murphy did a combo powerbomb/kick spot.
They tried the spot again but Ford slipped out with a leg scissors takedown and Murphy kicked Rollins by accident. Ford went to the top again but Rollins shoved him to the outside, then called for AOP who watched from the stage. The referee immediately tossed them from ringside.
As they argued with the referee, Kevin Owens appeared and gave Rollins a stunner. AOP chased after Owens in the crowd and Dawkins knocked Murphy into the timekeeper area. Ford then gave Rollins a frog splash for the pinfall win. Street Profits are the tag champs.
The crowd went nuts for the finish. The Street Profits celebrated in the crowd and there were red cups everywhere. This was pretty fun. (The match was short, probably about 6 minutes.)
Charly Caruso approached Rollins and Murphy backstage. Rollins was annoyed to see her, as usual. Rollins demanded a rematch against the Street Profits at Elimination Chamber. Rollins also said Owens can name the time, place and stipulation, because when he gets his hands on Owens, he will be crucified.
Riddick Moss defeated Ricochet to retain the 24/7 Championship (8:27)
Ricochet wore trunks instead of long tights. The announcers said Ricochet was looking to get back on track after Thursday’s loss. Moss, the champion, didn’t get an entrance. Some fans chanted “who are you” at him.
Ricochet tried a springboard crossbody but Moss caught him and sent him over the top to the outside with a fallaway slam. Ricochet took a bit of a nasty bump on his way out. He was also bleeding from the mouth from an earlier spot.
After a break, Ricochet fought out of a rest hold and hit a running forearm, kick to the head, enziguri, hurricanrana, and standing shooting star press for two. Ricochet urged the crowd to get into it but they didn’t really react. Moss blocked a superkick, slammed him down, then gave him a neckbreaker variant for the pinfall win. Moss retains.
[Second hour]
There will be a new episode of the Firefly Fun House on Smackdown after The Fiend pointed at the sign last week.
Kairi Sane was shown warming up backstage with Asuka.
AJ Styles promo
Styles said he was not in a good mood. I wished he had his beautiful trophy but didn’t because of a certain someone. The crowd chanted for Undertaker. Styles said he was the talk of the town, but not in a good way. He didn’t understand how anyone could say anything negative about him because he’s phenomenal.
Styles was also annoyed with Mark Wahlberg. They aired a clip of Wahlberg who advised Styles to walk away and not go after Undertaker. (Wahlberg was doing one of those sit-down interviews plugging a movie when he taped this.) The crowd chanted “walk away.” Styles couldn’t believe he was getting advice from Marky Mark.
Styles wasn’t going to take his advice because he knew he was on a collision course with Taker. Styles wanted Taker to watch his match against Black tonight. Taker was a legend, but he was trying to hold on to a spotlight that wasn’t his anymore. The spotlight belonged to Styles.
Aleister Black entered for their match. Before it could begin, Styles said Black must not have read the contract because in order to get to him, Black has to fight the toughest man in the building, Karl Anderson. Anderson jumped in the ring and yelled, “that’s me!”
Aleister Black defeated Karl Anderson (w/AJ Styles & Luke Gallows) (5:47)
Anderson was in control after a break but Black made a comeback and hit Black Mass for the pinfall win.
The ring announcer said Black just earned a match against Styles, but you knew what was coming next. Styles said Black also had to beat Gallows. Gallows attacked Black and tossed him around ringside as the crowd called Styles an assh*le.
Aleister Black defeated Luke Gallows (w/AJ Styles & Karl Anderson) via DQ (5:30)
The referee called for the match to start as soon as Gallows rolled Black into the ring, which hardly seems fair. After a break, Gallows pounded away at Black as Tom Phillips said this is basically a gauntlet match. Lawler wondered how Black would have missed that in the contract.
Suddenly, because Gallows wouldn’t stop attacking Black in the corner, the referee called for the bell, presumably a DQ. The crowd booed and chanted for Undertaker. The OC gave Black a Magic Killer.
AJ Styles (w/Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson) defeated Aleister Black (2:26)
Despite watching Black get attacked, the referee still called for the match to start with Black down and Styles on his feet (Black did nod at the ref to go ahead and start). Styles blocked a comeback attempt and hit a brainbuster. Styles then hit a Phenomenal forearm and pinned Black the way Undertaker pins his opponents for the pinfall win. Aleister Black loses.
Caruso asked Ruby Riott if she anticipated the Riott Squad breaking up the way they did. Riott said the only person she was responsible for was herself and she was free to strike when she damn well pleased. She said there would be no friends inside the Chamber.
Jeff Hardy will be on WWE Backstage tomorrow. Becky Lynch was shown talking to some guy backstage.
Liv Morgan defeated Ruby Riott (Special Referee: Sarah Logan) (4:27)
Riott was in control until Logan backed her out of the corner. Riott got in her face but Logan said she was just trying to be the referee. Riott gave Morgan a flatliner then bonked heads with Logan by accident after Morgan kicked out. Logan and Riott argued, then Morgan applied a schoolgirl. Logan had seen enough and did a fast count to award Morgan the winner.
After the match, Morgan gave Riott an enziguri, then Logan hit Morgan with a running knee.
Randy Orton was shown standing in the dark.
The two steel cage matches were plugged for Wednesday’s NXT.
A graphic informed us that a picture of Goldberg after winning the Universal title was the most-liked photo ever on WWE’s Instagram.
There was a recap of the Orton-Edge angle.
No Way Jose danced through the back with his conga line. They stopped upon seeing Erick Rowan. Jose asked him politely if they could see what was in the cage. Rowan said he’s been waiting weeks for someone to ask respectfully and agreed to show them. They cheered. Rowan pulled an animatronic tarantula out of the cage and they all ran away. He put it back in the cage. Yes, this was as dumb as it sounds.
[Third hour]
Shayna Baszler defeated Tag Team Champion Kairi Sane (w/Tag Champion Asuka) (12:42)
Phillips explained that Asuka suffered a wrist injury, so Sane replaced her. Before the match, Asuka said Baszler was lucky that she got injured. Sane said, “I got this!” In Japanese, Asuka said she would win the Chamber and face Lynch at WrestleMania.
There were light chants of “Shayna’s gonna kill you” so Sane covered her ears. Phillips said these two had a history but didn’t explain what that history was. He did put over Baszler’s MMA background.
Baszler was in full control for a while until a distraction from Asuka allowed Sane to apply a schoolgirl for just a one count. Phillips said, “Sane nearly got her!” Baszler knocked down Sane, then Lynch entered to her music and joined commentary after a break.
Lynch said she could fight them all and her heart rate wouldn’t go over 60, plus there would be lifts and wigs flying everywhere. I think the crowd began chanting “this is boring” as Sane attempted a comeback. She came off the top for an Insane Elbow, but Baszler got her feet up and applied the Kirifuda Clutch for the submission win.
Lynch called Baszler the only catch wrestler who didn’t want to be caught because she’s been avoiding her for weeks.
Rey Mysterio and Humberto Carrillo did a quick interview with Sarah Schreiber. Mysterio said this thing between them and Andrade and Angel Garza would end when they decide it will end. (Mysterio wore a cool Eddie Guerrero t-shirt.)
Rey Mysterio & Humberto Carrillo defeated U.S. Champion Andrade & Angel Garza (w/Zelina Vega) (19:11)
Garza and Andrade both wore blue tights. Garza received a kiss from an elderly lady in the front row before the match. There were chants for Eddie early in the match.
After a second break, Mysterio tagged in and tried a 619 but Garza blocked. Mysterio followed soon later with a Canadian Destroyer but Andrade broke up the cover. Andrade tagged in and gave Mysterio a back elbow. Andrade did Eddie Guerrero’s pose and tried the three amigos but Mysterio slipped out of the last one. Carrillo tagged in and hit a standing moonsault for two.
Mysterio gave both opponents a 619 and sent Garza to the outside. Carrillo then gave Andrade a moonsault for the pinfall win. Very good match.
Rollins and Murphy will get their title rematch against the Street Profits on Sunday. Aleister Black faces AJ Styles in a no disqualification match.
Beth Phoenix segment
Phoenix said she was here to give an update on Edge when Orton quickly interrupted. Orton entered the ring and went to hug Phoenix but she didn’t budge. He offered a handshake. Phoenix said, “You think I would hug you or shake your hand after what you did to my husband, you son-of-a-bitch?”
Phoenix figured Orton would show his face and was glad he did, because he needed to hear this. Phoenix said she was here as a mother, because their kids deserved their father.
Orton said that Edge would never wrestle again after what he did to him. Orton said he owed her an explanation. Orton told a story about being taken to a live event by his dad, Bob Orton, to meet with some agents in St. Louis back in 1999. He was just a fan at the time and it was a thrill to see guys like Steve Austin, Triple H, Mick Foley, and Davey Boy Smith.
However, Edge was the one guy who went up to his dad to tell him how much he respected him and how he was one of the best bad guys in the business. Edge told them that Bob Orton was one of the reasons he got into the business. Edge then told Randy that maybe they would get in the ring one day.
Orton said he used to be insecure about being a wrestler but Edge’s words gave him confidence. Not long after that, they were tearing the house down together before becoming partners. Orton then made some bad life choices that should have buried him, but it was Edge who pulled him out of that hole. Orton was able to be a great father because Edge saved his life.
Orton was returning the favour for Edge. He got goosebumps when Edge returned in the Rumble and he knew that Edge thought that he was returning for good. But Orton was worried that Edge would end up in a wheelchair and wouldn’t be able to be there for his daughters. Orton did what he did to save Edge because he loved him, Beth and their daughters.
Orton said the truth was, this wasn’t his fault, it was Beth’s fault. He called Phoenix an enabler. He called Edge a junkie for the roar of the crowd and she did nothing to stop him. (Some people were actually cheering Orton at this point. A few others chanted “bullsh*t.”) Orton realized at this moment that he loved their daughters more than she did.
Phoenix slapped him. They stared each other down as the crowd waited in anticipation. Orton called her a bitch (off the mic) so Phoenix kicked him in the gut. Orton gave her an RKO.
They initially played this up differently than usual. The camera cut to the crowd instead of showing Phoenix down in the ring. They then cut to the announcers and you could see officials running down to attend to her. Of course, they did show two replays, then eventually showed the ring.
Natalya, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, R-Truth, and Rey Mysterio (plus D-Von Dudley and Shane Helms as agents) were among those checking on her. Phoenix managed to sit up as the show ended.

How WWE Should Book Clash Of Champions: Gold Rush 2020

Hey everyone! Ever since Night Of Champions 2015, through multiple accounts, every month before major WWE pay-per-views, I’ve come on here and booked the cards to make them as exciting, intriguing, and best possible scenarios for the future. I do both NXT and main-roster pay-per-views, as well as the occasional big milestone RAW or Smackdown weekly show. Without further ado, here is how Clash Of Champions: Gold Rush 2020 should be booked
MY NIGHT/CLASH OF CHAMPIONS PPV POSTS OF PREVIOUS YEARS:
KICKOFF-SHOW:
1ST KICKOFF MATCH: Asuka (c) vs. Zelina Vega (Singles match for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship)
WINNER by SUBMISSION and STILL WWE RAW Women’s Champion: Asuka
2ND KICKOFF MATCH: Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Lucha House Party (Kalisto and Lince Dorado) (w/ Gran Metalik) (Tag Team match for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships)
WINNERS and STILL WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions: Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura
MAIN SHOW:
1ST MATCH: Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Sami Zayn (c) vs. AJ Styles (Triple Threat Ladder match for the Undisputed WWE Intercontinental Championship)
-Hardy and Zayn are on either side of the ladder, fighting to unhook the title, but Styles springs off the top rope and knocks Zayn off with a Phenomenal Forearm. Jeff and AJ fight on the ladder now and Jeff nails a Twist of Fate to Styles off the top.
-There is a ladder bridge set up between the announce table and the apron, and Styles hits a Styles Clash to Zayn through it.
-A ladder is set upright in front of a ringpost, and Zayn does his torpedo DDT through the post THROUGH THE LADDER onto Styles on the outside.
-And of course…. Jeff hits a Swanton Bomb off the top of a ladder. Somehow, some way.
The match ends with all 3 men on a single ladder, and they begin dropping like flies one by one. Zayn swings the titles into Styles, who falls to the mat. It’s now a tug of war between Zayn and Jeff. Jeff powerbombs Zayn off the ladder into the arms of AJ Styles, and Jeff unhooks the belts. Styles shouldn’t win this with the rumors of him going back to RAW due to his real-life issues with Heyman and because he wants to spend Fridays with his son, and the parallel between Sami and Jeff should continue one-on-one, and I don’t feel like that can happen unless Jeff wins, and Zayn just won’t have it. This would lead to Jeff vs. Sami Zayn in a ⅔ falls match at Hell In A Cell. And as for what AJ does next… keep reading on.
WINNER and STILL WWE Intercontinental Champion: Jeff Hardy
2ND MATCH: Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler (c) vs. The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan) (Tag Team match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships)
